Western Ringtail Possum

Common Name : Western Ringtail Possum

Scientific Name : Pseudocheirus peregrinus occidentalis

Habitat :
Lives in Eucalyptus forests in the south of Western Australia.

Diet :
Eats leaves from various species of Eucalyptus especially the Peppermint Gum.

Size :
Maximum length of about 800mm with the tail being about half that length. Maximum weight is 1100grams.

Danger :

Foxes catch the possums when they have to go down to the ground to get from one tree to another. If there are plenty of trees the possums do not have to go down to the ground.
