Burrowing Bettong

Common Name : Burrowing Bettong

Scientific Name : Bettongia lesueur

Habitat :
Lives in sandy soil in woodlands and grasslands of the islands off the coast of Western Australia.

Diet :
Eats the fruits of native figs, roots, bulbs, tubers, fungi, seeds and even termites, as well as some green plant matter.

Size :
It is about 500mm with the tail being 220mm of that.

Danger :

Cats and foxes are the main dangers and farms being built on their territory. They build a lot of burrows so farmers used to poison them.
