Common Name : Humpback Whale

Scientific Name : Megaptera novaeangliae

Habitat :
It lives in all oceans travelling from the Antarctic to the tropics.

Diet :
Eats mainly krill (crustaceans) and small fish.

Size :
Reaches a maximum length of around 18 metres in males, and about 19 metres for females.

Danger :

It is estimated that under 6,000 individuals of this species survive world-wide, with under 2,000 remaining in the Southern Hemisphere.
