Abbott's Booby

Common Name : Abbott's Booby

Scientific Name : Sula abbotti

Habitat :
It lives in the rainforest trees of Christmas Island.

Diet :
Eats flying fishes and squid which it finds in the warm waters near Indonesia.

Size :
This is a large seabird growing to a maximum length of around 750 mm, a wing-span of about 2 metres.

Danger :

The danger is large scale clearing of rainforests on Christmas Island for Phosphate mining in the 1960s - 1970s.
