Common Name : S.E. Red-tailed Black Cockatoo

Scientific Name : Calyptorhynchus banksii graptogyne

Habitat :
Tall, open eucalypt woodland along watercourses in south-eastern South Australia and south-western Victoria

Diet :
Eats the fruit of the Brown Stingybark and Boloke trees, seeds and the lavae of wood-boring insects.

Size :
It reaches over 500mm in length.

Danger :

Clearing of the food trees has been the main reason why there are now fewer than 100 birds thought to exist in the wild.
