Common Name : Mt Lofty Southern Emu-wren

Scientific Name : Stipiturus malachurus intermedius

Habitat :
It likes low dense undergrowth around swamps or marshes in the southern part of the Mt Lofty Ranges in South Australia.

Diet :
Feeds mainly insects and spiders found amongst the branches not on the ground.

Size :
It grows up to 180mm.

Danger :

Fires and clearing of the habitat for farms have been the problems.
