Common Name : Forty-spotted Pardalote

Scientific Name : Pardalotus quadragintus

Habitat :
Eucalypt forests of southern Tasmania.

Diet :
It eats a variety of invertebrates and the secretions from leaves and lerps.

Size :
It is 100mm in total length.

Danger :

Forest clearance and burning patterns in the forests where this bird likes to nest in holes in the trees has been the main problem but introduced Noisy Miners compete for food and nesting sites.
